In a statement, President Emanuel Macron highlighted that France will mobilise international assistance to Ukraine on December 13 in order to support Ukraine’s resilience in the face of Russian aggression. He said France decided to help Ukraine restore access to energy by repairing its electrical systems.

He also emphasised that Russian missiles impact the electrical grid in other countries besides Ukraine. Due to reductions in water and electrical supplies, Moldova is also having trouble. ”Will not forget Moldova, which also experienced water and electricity outages,” he added.

Maia Sandu, the president of Moldova, also attributed power outages and sabotaged water connections to Russia.

According to Macron, carrying out severe attacks on civilian areas constitutes a war crime, and the rest of the world does not ignore this. Russia will be held accountable for the atrocities committed on Ukrainian territories.

Russia recently launched another missile attack on Kyiv, killing three people and injuring more than 20. In the coming days, the number is anticipated to increase. President Emanuel denounced the Russian aggression against non-military parts of Ukraine.

On Wednesday, there were reports of explosions in the Ukrainian districts of Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv, as air raid sirens sounded throughout the nation in anticipation of potential Russian strikes.

The national energy company of Ukraine started emergency blackouts, and the national nuclear energy company said that all four of the nation’s nuclear power reactors’ power units had automatically disconnected due to a drop in frequency.

Following a phone discussion with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy on November 1, Macron announced he would co-chair a conference in Paris on December 13 to support people in Ukraine over the winter.

President Emanuel also mentioned that he makes an effort to speak with Vladimir Putin of Russia about the repercussions of conflict on the entire world and how it heightens the risk of a nuclear apocalypse. There are rumours that he also tries to set up a meeting with Putin.

The way things stand right now, it doesn’t appear possible to have a meeting with President Putin at the same table.
