President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, will be paying a visit to the Czech Republic for two days (May 11 and 12). The visit comes after the Czech President invited his Bulgarian counterpart, the press service stated.

President Radev will be going with his delegation, which includes: Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska as well as representatives of the Bulgarian business sector.

President’s wife – Desislava Radeva, will also be accompanying him during the visit. The Bulgarian delegation will be welcomed with military honours at Prague’s Hradcany Castle on May 10 by Czech President Milos Zeman and his wife, Ivana Zemanova. Radeva will be visiting the 74-years-old school Petar Beron Bulgarian School in Prague on May 11, 2022.

The education institution teaches at least 125 Bulgarian students at the present time.

Meetings will be placed with the Czech Republics’ President of the Senate, Milos Vistrcil, and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Marketa Pekarova Adamova, as well as with Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

Talks will likely be held on developing trade and economic partnerships and cooperation in the tourism sector, the government official underscored.

Along with this, on the initial day of the visit to the Czech Republic, President Radev and Industry and Trade Minister Josef Sikela will be launching a Czech-Bulgarian business forum under the motto “Together We Achieve More”. The forum will be opened at Sikela’s Ministry.

At the inauguration ceremony, several government dignitaries of both countries, including representatives of leading companies in the fields of energy and electronics, information and communication technologies, biotechnology, fintech industry, mechanical engineering, food industry, defence, and security, will be present.

Besides this, President Radev will meet with the Bulgarian diaspora living in the Czech Republic.

Another aim of the meeting is to develop a sense of understanding between the countries, as well as strengthen the relations.
