Sofia, Bulgaria: The European country of Bulgaria has reported a total of fresh 275 cases of the novel coronavirus, as per the information shared in the unified information portal of May 19, 2022.
These new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours from the additional 6,114 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities. The positivity rate of the new COVID-19 infections stands at nearly 5%, the portal’s data further adds.
Along with this, a total of six (6) patients with the COVID-19 virus lost their lives to the contagious mutant during the previous day. Meanwhile, there are a total of 10,545 COVID patients who recovered from the viral illness in the last 24 hours and got discharged from the hospital facilities.
For the present time, there are a total of 567 patients with the novel coronavirus in the hospital facilities of Bulgaria, the data further reveals. This number includes the recently admitted patients.
At least fifty-one (51) COVID-19 patients are in intensive care units – ICU.
Additional 773 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were also administered during the previous day.
As of May 18, 2022, there are a total of 2,058,252 Bulgarian nationals who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully immunized against the virus, computing for nearly 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.
On the other hand, there are a total of 754,523 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose, that is, booster shots of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines. This number of individuals represents around 10.9% of the total targeted eligible population, the official data of the report further notifies.
