Bulgaria confirms additional 126 COVID cases in 24 hours

The European country of Bulgaria has recorded a total of additional 126 cases of the novel coronavirus during the last day, as per the data published in the unified information portal of May 16, 2022.

These fresh infections of the contagious viral illness were detected from the additional 2,694 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities of Bulgaria in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of active COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria has hiked to 110,099. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 1,161,630


There are a total of three COVID patients who lost their lives to the mutant in the past day, and all of them were not vaccinated. Meanwhile, there are a total of 181 COVID-19 patients who recovered from the virus and have been discharged from the hospital facilities.

For the present time, there are a total of twenty-nine (29) patients with the COVID-19 virus who have been admitted to the hospital facilities. The total number of novel coronavirus patients who are in hospital facilities in the European country is 598.

According to the official data, there are a total of seventy-three (73) patients in intensive care units. The total recovery rate of Bulgaria is at 1,014,483.

To date, there are a total of 2,057,788 individuals who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the contagious mutant. This number of individuals represents around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.

On the other hand, there are a total of 752,882 Bulgarian citizens who are fully immunized and have also taken their third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This number of Bulgarian nationals is representing around 10.8% of the total targeted eligible population of the European country as of May 15, 2022, data shared in the unified information portal.
