Bulgaria recorded a total of 435 additional cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of May 5, 2022. With this, the total number of active COVID-19 cases in the European country has increased to 134,409.
These fresh COVID-19 cases have been detected positive from the additional 7162 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities of the Balkan state. The positivity rate of the new COVID-19 cases stands at 6%, the official data states.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 1,158,354 novel coronavirus infections have been recorded in the European country.
Along with this, additional six (6) COVID patients lost their lives to the deadliest mutant during the last day. Meanwhile, there are a total of 3578 COVID-19 patients who recovered from the virus and got discharged from the hospital facilities.
For the present time, there are a total of 786 patients in the hospital facilities, including the recently admitted patients in the last 24 hours. There are a total of eighty-two (82) patients in intensive care units – ICU.
Additional 1150 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the last 24 hours in the Balkan state.
COVID-19 vaccination rate
There are a total of 2,056,369 individuals who have received their required number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the deadliest virus. This number of individuals represents nearly 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.
On the other hand, there are a total of 748,313 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose that is booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine. This number of individuals represents around 10.8% of the total targeted eligible population, according to the official data.
