During the last 24 hours, a total of additional 228 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in the European country of Bulgaria, as per the data shared in the unified information portal. With this, the total number of active COVID-19 infections in Bulgaria increases to 141,746.
The fresh COVID-19 cases have been detected from the additional 4093 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of the new COVID-19 cases stands at 5.57%, the portal’s data further adds.
Meanwhile, 66.23% of the newly recorded COVID-19 cases belonged to the category of the unvaccinated Bulgarian population.
Along with this, two patients with the COVID-19 virus have lost their lives to the viral illness the previous day. Both the deceased were not vaccinated against the contagious COVID-19 pandemic.
There are a total of 239 patients with the COVID-19 virus who got recovered from the mutant in the last 24 hours.
For the present time, there are a total of seventy-seven (77) individuals in intensive care units of the Bulgarian hospital facilities. A total of 849 COVID patients are in the hospital facilities, as per the data shared in the portal.
COVID-19 vaccination rate:
To date, in Bulgaria, a total of 2,055,854 individuals have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now in the category of the fully vaccinated Bulgarian population. This toll of Bulgarian nationals represents nearly 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population of the Balkan state.
On the other hand, there are a total of 746,936 Bulgarian citizens who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose, which is booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccines. This number of individuals represents around 10.7% of the total targeted eligible population, according to the data shared in the portal.
