COVID in Bulgaria: Fresh 871 COVID cases recorded with 30 deaths

Sofia, Bulgaria: The European nation recorded additional 871 cases of the novel coronavirus in the past day, as per the data shared in today’s (Tuesday, April 12, 2022) unified information portal. The positivity rate of the country stands at 8.66%. These new COVID infections were detected positive out of the total 10,052 COVID-19 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. 

With this, the active number of the COVID-19 infections in Bulgaria has increased to 167,864 as of April 12, and the overall number of the confirmed COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the outbreak to 1 146 279. 

A total of thirty (30) patients with the contagious COVID-19 virus lost their lives in the last 24 hours to the illness, bringing the total death rate of the European country to 36 730, according to the data. 

There are a total of 2634 COVID-19 patients who got recovered from the mutant in the past 24 hours, taking the overall tally of the recovered infections to 941 685, as of today’s report. 

For the present time, there are a total of 1213 patients who are in the hospital facilities, including the recently admitted 203 COVID patients. Meanwhile, there are a total of 134 individuals with COVID-19 in intensive care units – ICU.  

A total of 2,507 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours in Bulgaria, the portal’s data further adds. To date, there are a total of 2,052,220 individuals who have taken their required number of the COVID-19 jabs and are hence in the category of fully vaccinated individuals. This number of individuals represents around 29.6% of the total targeted eligible population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 731,305 Bulgarian citizens who are fully vaccinated and have also received their third dose or booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccines to date, representing nearly 10.6% of the total targeted eligible population of Bulgaria.
