On Saturday, August 12, 2023, two armed robberies were conducted by four perpetrators at the Ram’s Supermarket at Camps and the Ram’s Supermarket at Bird Rock, respectively, around 7:55 PM. PM Drew remarked that these criminal acts negatively affect the community, and businesses.

He warned the perpetrators that such actions will not be tolerated and the government would take strict measures to put an end to criminal activities disturbing the peaceful communities.

As per the Police investigation, As per Police investigation, four masked robbers with guns and black hoodies entered Ram’s Supermarket at Camps and robbed the cashier and ran away in a car. They stole a large amount of money.

Later, they entered another Ram’s Supermarket at Bird Rock. With the same strategy, they robbed the second mall and fled into the car, waiting for them outside. Crime Scene Unit has processed the surveillance footage collected from the store’s supermarket, and evidential items were collected for investigation.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) emphasized that the Police department has increased its investigative capacity to keep the nation safe and free of robberies. They urged that if any citizen has any information about the perpetrators who conducted robberies in two RAMS supermarkets, the Crime Hotline, 707, is available for the public’s use.

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevi urged the citizens to cooperate with Royal St. Christopher Police Force to put an end to the terror generated by these robbers.

Minister Drew acknowledged that the government of St Kitts and Nevis is committed to working closely with law enforcement to ensure safety and bring those responsible to justice.

He also visited the stores where the incident happened and talked with the employees of RAMS Supermarket. PM Drew ensured that the government and security forces were working 24/7 to end Crime in the twin island federation and maintain peace in the society so people could continue their daily living without any obstruction.
