“According to NFA data, about 84 structural fire incidents have been recorded from January to August this year in comparison to 74 fires in the same period last year.”

“The National Fire Authority of Fiji is a first-rate organisation with dedicated and skilled firefighters who think first about saving lives and serving their fellow Fijians.”

“I wish to thank them for their hard work and selfless dedication in the face of enormous risks.”

Minister Bala expressed his appreciation to the NFA for creating this mechanism to involve citizens and communities in the work of fire prevention.

The youth of Namoli have been trained to conduct risk assessment and mitigation to ensure safety from fire and other emergency risks.

Minister Bala also commended the commitment and hard work of these 32 youths for completing the two weeks of training, which is a wonderful way of showing love and concern for friends, families, and neighbours.
