Gabrovo, Bulgaria: The REMO International Craft Fair “Etar” gathers craftsmen and guests from two continents – Europe and Asia. The event was officially opened by the Director of REMO “Enter” Svetla Dimitrova and the Mayor of Gabrovo, Tanya Hristova.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Regional Governor Daniela Marinova, MP Daniel Petrov, Amelia Gesheva – Advisor to the Minister of Culture Irena Todorova – Executive Director of the Regional Center – Sofia to UNESCO, Deputy Mayor of Gabrovo Municipality Nevena Mineva, craftsmen and guests from all over the country.

In her welcoming speech, Dr. Svetla Dimitrova recalled the significance of the fair, and Mayor Tanya Hristova emphasized the symbolism of the first day of the festival – September 1, explaining that Simeonovden is a symbol of a new beginning.

The evening ended with a concert by DFA Gabrovche and the magic of Bulgarian folklore. The program of the fair continues through Sunday, with 60 artisans presenting their creations.

The revival tradition of master betting has also been resumed, with the kuyumji’s skills being measured this year. Artisans from five different countries are clashing to win the title.

Silver cotton, cash prize and solo exhibition at the Ether Museum. They are tasked with creating items out of parties, and the competition will run until September 3.
