Challenge Yourself project of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, supported by the European Executive Agency for Education and Culture is aimed to make young people in Bulgaria and Europe love sports. Leading an active and healthy lifestyle is the best, so it’s essential to love sports in early childhood.
The idea of BFHG is among the few approved throughout Europe. The project won European funding under this year’s measure for developing innovative programs and infrastructure for amateur sports at the level. His execution begins on July 1 and will last for 18 months.
Rhythmic Gymnastics is one of the most beloved sports in Bulgaria, and the successes of the country’s Golden Girls make us proud every time. However, rhythmic gymnastics will come out of high sports mastery.
The project aims to present sports to adolescents in an accessible, exciting and innovative way and encourage a healthy lifestyle and their competitive spirit. Goals and ambitions are not leading; the main thing is the fun. Golden Athletes are expected to be born with the help of the project.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation is one of the most successful organizations in the sports system in Bulgaria. She has proven this repeatedly with dozens of class athletes who glorified Bulgaria worldwide.
With the project “CHALLENGE YOURSELF”, the federation continues its mission to work for the development of mass sports. It stands behind the cause of a healthier lifestyle for young Bulgarians.
Within the project, a mobile application will be developed to present a series of training videos showing basic exercises from the world of gymnastics, suitable for performance by non-professionals in any setting, to stimulate physical activity.
Non-professionals of all ages can touch the golden world of gymnastics as their mentors will be the “golden girls” from the Bulgarian ensemble that won first place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
They will also be the prominent figures of the project. In addition to video demonstrations of exercises and workouts, the mobile app will share information such as diet, mind and mental health care, tips to improve learning skills, etc.
The “essential” part of the project will launch in January 2024, when the most exciting will be kicked off – a year-long challenge in which everyone will begin following the program drawn by the Golden Girls. The content will be presented step-by-step in an engaging manner and will have an enhanced gameplay element to keep the participants interested.
The one-year campaign will include 16 master classes led by Bulgaria’s Olympic champions. At these events, challenge participants can meet their role models first-hand and feel the magic of pro sport.
The classes will be held in addition to Bulgaria and four more European countries – Spain, France, Germany and Greece. Bulgaria will have courses in Veliko Tarnovo, Sandanski, Pazardzhik and Burgas, and abroad the golden girls will visit twice in Barcelona, Montpellier, Berlin and Thessaloniki.
The end of the year-long challenge will be marked with a two-day live event in Sofia where all participants will come together to demonstrate what they have learned, have fun and receive their rewards.
The project “CHALLENGE YOURSELF” is unique in its thought and innovation and is another successful step in the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation’s consistent efforts to raise the quality and reputation of Bulgarian sport and its use as a tool for building an active and engaged social environment.
It emphasizes the understanding shared by all members of the considerable gymnastics family that investing in young people, working with them and educating them in love and respect for sports and physical activity are the best means of building a healthy and prosperous nation and ensuring a sustainable and bright future of Bulgaria.
