The idea was born out of the desire of both institutions to return to our national literary and historical memory the work of some little-known today but active and popular in their time creators, editors, pedagogues, and publicists.

The aim of the anthology is also to expand knowledge of the rich cultural life in the Gabrovo region in the interwar period. Including texts from the beginning of the last century, the edition contributes to the study of the stages in the history of our children’s drama. Footnotes have been added to the texts that introduce the contemporary meaning of obsolete or dialect words.

The Stage Kids anthology also includes several applications with biographies for the authors as well as digital copies of the covers of the first editions of the plays. Autographs with authentic handwriting and signature, with which the artists donated copies to the Aprilov-Palauzov Regional Library, are also valuable.

The purpose of the anthology is to popularize unknown authors, to introduce representative trends in Bulgarian literature for children and adolescents of the first decades of the XX century. this way, it can be useful for literary scholars, pedagogues, psychologists, playwright writers, teachers, researchers and connoisseurs of various ages.

Last but not least, the anthology’s ambition is to return the included works to our contemporary children’s and youth scene, through which not only to renew the repertoire, but also to “teach” in an authentic way, through the clarity present on the stage, through the domestic and language atmosphere, the knowledge of those very difficult, but also very productive for our culture decades since the beginning of the twentieth century.

The project proposal provides for the issue to be in both paper and electronic versions. The anthology is uploaded to the Boyan Penev Publishing Center link.
