Chepelare, Bulgaria: As the municipality host of the Final Conference for Municipal Mandate 2019-2023, organized by the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria – NSORB, together with Smolyan Municipality, the Municipality of Chepelare revealed famous Rhodopeian hospitality to the guest mayors and presidents of municipal councils from 264 Bulgarian municipalities.
They also demonstrated the magic of the Rhodope Mountain that touches and delights all the senses. With kind words, the mayor of Chepelare municipality Boran Hadzhiev welcomed the guests so that they could feel at home and invited everyone to join the Rhodope choro, which he proudly led.
The folklore concert program that made the Snow White Peak experience unforgettable included: “Lisni sa goro”, performed by Zlatina Uzunova under the sounds of Kaba Gaida; “I am white, hero” (the anthem of the Rhodope Mountains), revealing the magic of the Kaba Gaidite with the special participation of the Mayor of Zlatograd Municipality Miroslav Yanev.
The heavenly voice of Valya Balkanska and the bagpipe of Peter Yanev – Head of the bagpipe team at CPLR ODC – city, Chepelare, performs the Legend of the Rhodope Mountains – Rhodope Folklore Ensemble; Children of Shiroka Laka – National School of Folklore Arts (NUFI) and Rhodope Play.
Authentic Rhodope cuisine combined with breathtaking views of Mount Orpheus stunned attendees and left with them an unceasing love for the beautiful and gentle Rhodopes.
