A film dedicated to the renowned choir conductor and music educator Professor Vasil Arnaudov – longtime leader and conductor of the Ruse Choir “Rodina”, one of the brightest representatives of Bulgarian musical culture in the second half of the 20th century, will be broadcast on Bulgarian National Television.

The film “Vasil Arnaudov – Conductor of the World” will be premiered on Wednesday, June 14, at 21:00, on BNT 1. The screenwriter and director of the documentary, which this year marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of the eminent conductor, is Georgi Toshev, the operator is Georgi Gvozdev, and the director of the montage – Kaloyana Klimentova.

Prof. Vasil Arnaudov was born on May 1, 1933. in Varna. Back in 1956 completed the Bulgarian State Conservatory with a major in Choir Conducting. He subsequently conducted the Choir of Sofia Teachers, the Choir “Homeland” – Ruse, Bulgarian Choir Chapel “Svetoslav Obretenov”, Sofia Chamber Choir “Lubomir Pipkov”, and many choir formations in the country and abroad.

Since 1971 Vasil Arnaudov has been awarded an artist since 1974 and has been an associate professor in choir conducting at the BDK since 1976—Dean of the Theoretical-Composing and Conducting Faculty of the BDK since 1980.

The road – Rector of the Conservatory, Professor of Choir Conducting and People’s Artist. Bearer of the Order of St. s Cyril and Methodius, 1st century and “Golden Lira” is an honorary citizen of Silistra, Ruse, Yambol and Argostoli, Greece. Back in 1990 was elected the first president of the newly created Bulgarian Choir Union.

Prof. Vasil Arnaudov has a vast repertoire of Bulgarian and foreign songs, content-oratorial works, and composers. Among Bulgarian artists, his repertoire includes the results of – P. Steinov, L. Pipkov, D. Petkov, S. Pironkov, Al. Tanev, Konstantin Iliev, Kr. Kyurkchyski and others. , and among others – Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi, Berlioz, Shostakovich, Stravinski, Rachmaninov and many others.

He has been successful not only on the Bulgarian scene but also in several international competitions, festivals and tours in Japan, the UK, Italy, Germany, Ireland and Greece.

Vasil Arnaudov’s name has been associated with Vidin since he arrived in 1966. , when under his guidance and with his help, the beginning of school choir singing in the city and the county started.

With his invaluable organizational and conductor support, Vidin hosted the seven national “Festivals of Cantt-Oratorial Music” on his initiative in 1988, named after their creator and longtime chairman of their organizational committee “Prof. Konstantin Iliev.

Back in 1980, Vasil Arnaudov was invited as a consultant to the first Bulgarian choir, “Yanko Mustakov”, in Svishtov. Under his leadership, the choir also achieved great success in 1984 and was awarded the highest title representative.

Professor Vasil Arnaudov was declared an honorary citizen of Vidin on June 30, 1980, for his creative merits and contribution to developing choral singing art in our city. He died on March 19, 1991 in Sofia.
