Bulgarian Minister of tourism Ilin Dimitrov reported that in 2022, a massive radio and television campaign was launched for national tourist sites to publicise them and expand Bulgaria’s tourism industry, as the nation has a rich historical past and draws visitors from all over the world.

The radio advertisement campaign was effective. Due to media contracts already being signed by the ministry, Dimitrov indicated that it would continue in 2023.

The Minister of Tourism feels that consistency is the main factor in this; thus, the wonders of Bulgaria, including its people, gastronomy, culture, history, and nature, will be showcased daily on air.

He added, “We have been talking about advertising our country on the internal market for a long time. We have also discussed the importance of Bulgarian tourists hundreds of times.

Minister Dimitrov emphasises that he is aware of the value of promoting the nation’s tourism because running social media campaigns in today’s environment is essential to extend a business.

He claims that a considerable increase in the country’s tourism industry has been seen since the introduction of television and radio programmes. Because of this, the tourism ministry chose to stick with the same plan of action for the upcoming year.

The Tourism Minister also informed that he organised several informal meetings with businesses in Varna and Burgas with Stefka Sveshtarova and George Filipov from the Bulgarian Association of Sommeliers and Culprits for the organisation in Varna.

“Over a glass of wine, reflecting on the year’s end and hoping for a more successful one. I’ve always said communication is key, and regular business meetings are extremely important”, said Dimitrov.

Dimitrov highlighted that he exchanged ideas and discussed the problems and challenges the ministry faced in recent months and on which they will work from the beginning of the year 2023.
