The Russian nuclear submarine K-329 Belgorod has been mobilised, and the NATO command has warned its partners. The Paladin of the Apocalypse is the weapon equipped in it. According to the alliance, the Belgorod may have entered the Arctic to test a Poseidon nuclear warhead torpedo. According to military experts, it can travel 10,000 kilometres underwater. The Russian submarine has disappeared from the base. It is expected to test the Poseidon missile torpedo in the surroundings of the Kara Sea. According to American intelligence, Status-6 is the code name for it.

The new variety of weapons has raised tensions among NATO and its allies. Amid tensions with the United States, Russia is creating a new concept for warfare, and the K-329 submarine is seen as its prototype. Observers point out that Russia is upgrading their submarines since it lacks significant aircraft carriers or cruisers to compete with the US Navy.

As one of the operations for which it was created, it was claimed that the Belgorod is frequently cited concerning sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipelines. However, western intelligence is confident that the submarine did not travel past the White Sea (in northern Russia). It should appear in Arctic waters for a series of top-secret testing next.

The construction of this gigantic submarine began in 2019, three years ago. The submarine is 184 metres long and weighs 14,700–17,00 tonnes when surfaced and 24,000–30,000 tonnes while submerged in deep waters. Although the range of this sub is currently unknown, Russia claims that their latest submarine can travel at a speed of 32 knots (59 km/h; 37 mph).

By testing their new torpedo, the Kremlin will be able to display a weapon the West has no answer against and didn’t have any countermeasure present to tackle it. Kremlin will gain an advantage in the conflict with the West by using the Belgorod submarine to test the new torpedo.

Poseidon is a nuclear-powered intercontinental torpedo. It is an enormous torpedo ever created and is currently in use. The torpedo is 2 metres in diameter and 24 metres long. It moves at the speed of 70 knots (130 km/h) underwater. The torpedo can swim one kilometre down. The weapon it can carry weighs two megatons and is propelled by nuclear energy.

Russian reports claim that when Poseidon approaches the coast, the multi-megaton warhead explodes, creating a “nuclear wave” that can wipe out life across a large area. The torpedoes can also be fitted with conventional warheads aimed at the fleets of aircraft carriers, infrastructure facilities, coastal fortifications, and infrastructure groups.
