In the Burgas region of Bulgaria, two more attempts of trafficking illegal migrants are found.

This morning just before 7:00 Am, a truck carrying illegal migrants was stopped in “Medan Rudnik” (district in Burgas). The truck stopped at gas station for re-filling. According to recent information, it was carrying 88 illegal migrants and were men of Afghan descent.

Burgas police reported that, a 60-year-old Macedonian was driving the truck.

All immigrants were loaded into the truck with license plates from the Republic of North Macedonia, in the region of Debt, which is about twenty kilometres from the Burgas, the Police officers of the fourth RU- Burgas immediately stopped it.

Pre-trial proceedings have begun in this case.

Due to lack of space at the fourth district office, all 88 immigrants were taken to the border police station in the “Change Skele” neighbourhood.
The Macedonian driver is about to face charges of emigrant trafficking from the Burgas prosecutors’ office.

Later, the Police announced more than 53 detainers who were again crossing illegally. They were seized in the region between the villages of Gaber and Debate. All of them were brought to the border Patrol office.

Illegal migration is increasing everyday in the provinces of Bulgaria, raising the tensions of Bulgarian border police and other forces. In recent days, Police caught immigrants in the capital (Sofia) and a terrific accident in Burgas left everyone in shock when a bus filled with 47 migrants entered in Burgas and ran over a police car who tried to stop them. Two police officers inside the car got killed in this accident.

The Border protection forces have taken some serious actions to stop immigrant trafficking. The military got involved, and high-tech equipments like surveillance drones are being used to prevent further illegal migrations.
