Sofia, Bulgaria: The relocation of the Ukrainian refugees has started in Bulgaria, and at least 200 of them were denied to leave the Varna district. Only five Ukraine refugees boarded the train, which left Varna at around 10:30 am yesterday.
The Regional Governor of Varna – Blagomir Kotsev, stated that the Bulgarian administration made every possible arrangement they could, but all the buses from the Golden Sands were empty yesterday morning.
For the process of the relocation, the European country’s Red Cross, along with the other NGOs on the ground. A breakfast facility for the Ukraine refugees was also planned, as well as a children’s playground and water facility.
The regional governor cited, “There is an organization for the transportation of refugees from Varna. However, there are between 5 and 10 people on the train who wanted to be taken away. The idea was to transport about 200-250 people from several hotels”.
Following the above statement, he then added, “Many of them decided at the last minute that they would look for their own way of accommodation in the cities or go back to Ukraine. We had a well-prepared organization. We had prepared four cars in addition to the Varna-Sofia train, but at the moment, we are disconnecting them”.
The head of the State Agency for Refugees – Mariana Tosheva, was also in the Varna district, after which she left for Burgas to keep a review of the current situation of the Ukraine refugees in the seaside town.
One of the reporters who were on the ground cited, “It must be clear how many refugees want to leave at the same time tomorrow because it is a waste of resources. Police teams and journalists were more than willing to relocate than the refugees”.
