Bulgaria records additional 4626 COVID cases

Sofia, Bulgaria: A total of 4626 individuals in the European country tested positive for the deadliest mutant on Friday, February 18, 2022, as per the data shared in the unified information portal. These individuals tested positive out of the 25 056 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities of Bulgaria in 24 hours. 

Along with the reporting of these additional COVID-19 cases, a total of 105 individuals who contracted the virus lost their lives to the viral disease as of February 18. With these new deaths, the total death rate tally of the European nation rises to 34,884. 

The data in the official portal further adds that there are a total of 251, 920 active cases of the COVID-19 pandemic are there in the country, bringing the count of total confirmed infections to 1,059,192. The current toll of the active cases witnessed a decrease of 5345 as compared to that of the previous day. 

The positivity rate of February 18 new novel coronavirus cases stands at 18.46 percent. 

A total of 9866 persons with COVID-19 recovered from the deadliest virus on Friday, February 18, taking the total recoveries in the European country to 772 388. 

In terms of hospitalizations, there are a total of 5545 COVID-19 patients who are at present in the hospital facilities, of which 633 individuals were admitted in the past 24 hours. As per the data of the official portal, there are a total of 588 patients who are in the Intensive Care Unit. 

The number of COVID-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit has declined as that of the February 17 report. 

VACCINATION STATICS: 

So far, nearly 29.4% of the total Bulgarian population has taken their required number of the COVID-19 vaccine and are now fully inoculated. On the other hand, around 9.6% of the total population of Bulgaria are fully vaccinated and has also received their booster shots.
