Haskovo, Bulgaria: Mayor of Haskovo Municipality Stanislav Dechev awarded the best athletes today, participating in the Vanko Dyakov cross. The mayor congratulated runners, who are aged 8 to over 70 this year.
The youngest participants, the eight-year-olds Mert Manolov and Yusha Hashim, crossed the bicycle route, but in this case, sportsmanship and strong character are essential, commented Mayor Stanislav Dechev and awarded the two boys with special honours.
For girls up to 19 years old, the 14-kilometer route Dimitrovgrad-Haskovo Ivana Pedeva was the fastest. In the youth under 19, the winner is Alexander Pedev.
In the age group of women up to 35 years old, the first place was won by Sylvia Georgieva. She also received a special award from Vanko Dyakov’s family. Among men under 40, the winner in cross was Nikolay Parvanov, who was also excellent with a figurine from Vanko Dyakov’s family.
For women over 35, the winner in the cross is Rosica Beleva. For men between 40-50 years old, the fastest is Georgi Georgiev, and from 50 to 60 years old. the winner is Nedyalko Borukov.
For men over 60 years old, the route was first passed by Serozha Kyuchukov, and the winner for athletes over 70 is Vasil Nikolov. 49 athletes from all over the country took part in the traditional Vanko Dyakov cross this year.
