Numerous sports events in Haskovo on holiday, September 8

Haskovo, Bulgaria: Haskovo celebrates its holiday on the Day of Nativity, on September 8, every year. During the days surrounding this date, numerous cultural, sports, and children’s events, exhibitions, and concerts are held in Haskovo, all under the auspices of the Municipality. 

These festivities turn Haskovo into a colourful centre filled with various events and celebrations that begin every day in the morning and last until the evening.

Following is the list of sports events scheduled to be held in Haskovo on dates surrounding September 8- 

INTERNATIONAL TENNIS TOURNAMENT UP TO 14 YEARS OLD

From August 28 to September 3, an International Tennis Tournament up to 14 is being held at the Kenana Tennis Complex. The tournament is part of the Sports Calendar of the Municipality of Haskovo and is held with its support.

Finals – September 3 Kenana Tennis Complex. 

APPLIED CYCLING COMPETITION 

It is a traditional, fun race for all children who love cycling. In the alley of the beautiful Kenana Park will gather the best girls and boys in the bike mastery—registration for participation in the sports competition – on site. Haskovo Municipality provides awards for the prize winners in different age groups.

On September 5 at 9:30 a.m. – registration of participants at the entrance to Kenana Park

The race is for children and students in three age groups:

– children up to 9 years old

– children up to 12 years old

– children up to 15 years old

Race start 10:00 am

Awarding of participants will be immediately after the finals at Kenana Park Lane.

NATIONAL HANDBALL TOURNAMENT “VOLCHO DASKALOV CUP” – 09/062023

Haskovo Handball Club Organizes Valcho Daskalov Cup National Handball Tournament. The meetings start on September 6 at 9:00 am in the hall, bearing the name of the renowned Haskov handball player Valcho Daskalov in the Spartak club. 

Three teams confirmed participation in the tournament: the girls and the youth. Valcho Daskalov’s family presents the awards in the game.

ATHLETIC CROSS “VANKO DYAKOV” – 07.09.2023

The traditional athletics cross, bearing the name of the prominent Haskov athlete and coach Vanko Dyakov, will be held on September 7. The sports competition is part of the Municipality of Haskovo’s festive program on September 8 – Haskovo Day.

8:30 pm – Haskovo Municipality provides transport for participants in the Vanko Dyakov athletics cross—departure from a stop on the square. Spartak / under Vasil Levski High School / in Haskovo to Dimitrovgrad.

9:00 AM – Registration of participants for the Vanko Dyakov athletics cross in front of the Chemist Cinema, Dimitrovgrad.

10:00 AM – Start of the athletics cross from the cinema “Chemist”, Dimitrovgrad.

Final – in Haskovo, on Blvd. Rakovski is next to the NRA building.

CHILDREN’S FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT “BOGOMIR POPOV” 09. – 10.09. 2023.

The two-day children’s football tournament “Bogomil Popov” is organized by the Municipality of Haskovo and the BFS. The matches will start on September 9 and will be played simultaneously at the “Mladost” and “Haskovo” stadiums. The finals of the tournament will be at the Haskovo Stadium on September 10 at 10:00.
