Bulgaria logs 491 fresh COVID infections with 10 deaths

A total of additional 491 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Bulgaria, during the last 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of today, April 30, 2022.

This brings the total count of the active COVID-19 infections in the European nation to date to 141,451. Meanwhile, since the beginning of the contagious COVID-19 pandemic, the total count of confirmed novel coronavirus infections has reached 1,156,466, as per the portal’s data.

These fresh COVID-19 cases have been detected from the additional 9233 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities in the past 24 hours in Bulgaria. The positivity rate of the new COVID-19 cases stands at 5%.

There are a total of 3919 patients with viral illness have recovered from the mutant and got discharged from the hospital facilities. At the same time, there are a total of ten (10) COVID-19 patients who lost their lives to the virus.

At the present time, there are a total of 879 patients in the hospital facilities, whereas a total of eighty-two (82) patients are in intensive care units – ICU, according to the data.

During the past day, a total of 1,436 additional COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the European country.

To date, there are a total of 2,055,767 individuals in Bulgaria who have received their recommended number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine doses and are now in the category of fully immunized. This number of Bulgarian nationals represents around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.

On the other hand, there are a total of 746,561 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shot (third dose) of the COVID-19 vaccines. This number of individuals represents around 10.7% of the total targeted eligible population of the European country as of April 29, 2022, the official data further states.
