Bulgaria reports 2433 new COVID cases, with 64 deaths

Sofia, Bulgaria: In Bulgaria, there are a total of 2433 citizens who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, as per data shared in the unified information portal as of March 15, 2022. The positivity rate of these additional COVID-19 cases stands at 12.15%. 

These additional COVID infections were found from the 20,013 tests conducted by the health facilities in the past 24 hours.

Along with these new cases, sixty-four (64) patients of the COVID-19 virus have lost their lives to the deadliest virus. With the reporting of these additional deaths, the total count of the COVID-19 related fatalities has increased to the mark of 36,162. 

The data of the unified report further states the active cases of the COVID-19 infections have risen to 196,321, whereas the total count of the confirmed COVID-19 infections has hiked to 1,115,132. The toll of the active cases has witnessed a decrease of 2766, as compared to the figures of March 14, 2022.  

There are a total of 2403 patients of the viral illness who at the present time are in the hospital facilities of Bulgaria, including the 299 newly admitted patients. 

Meanwhile, there are a total of 311 individuals who are in intensive care units – ICU. This number has witnessed a decline of 34, as compared to that of the previous day.  

Additional 1853 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines and a total of 1207 booster shots have been administered at the vaccination sites in the time frame of the last 24 hours. 

As per the data, there are a total of 2,053,901 individuals in the European country who have received their recommended number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are fully vaccinated. This number of persons accounts for around 29.6% of the total Bulgarian population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 703,983 citizens of the European nation who are in the category of fully immunized and have also taken their booster shots, to date, representing about 10.2% of the total targeted eligible population.
