Industrial production of Bulgaria rises by 16.4%, study reveals

Sofia, Bulgaria: This year, in the month of January, the European country witnessed an annual hike of 16.4% seasonally-adjusted industrial output. By achieving this milestone, Bulgaria baggs the fourth position in terms of the best performer on this indicator in the European Union. 

The above-mentioned data has been shared by the bloc’s statistical office on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. 

The data shared by Eurostat reveals, in the 27-member bloc, industrial production has seen a rise of around 0.4% during the first month of the ongoing year.   

If compared this data to that with December last year, the industrial production of the European country has expanded by 1.9%, in January 2022, being behind Romania, Czechia, Poland and Austria. 

Bulgaria’s industrial production has been followed by Lithuania, Austria and Poland, with first, second and third positions respectively. Lithuania witnessed a rise of 24.7%, Austria by 17.3%, and Poland’s industrial production grew by 16.6% in the month of January this year. 

The industrial production of the Eurostat further highlights that the output as well as activity of the industrial sectors, which is based on the data adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects, in every nation who is a member state of EU, and also on the euro area and the EU as complete. Although, the construction part is excluded from the index. 

Eurostat Index also calculates the transformation in the volume of output on the basis of a month. It then includes the production of intermediate goods, energy, capital goods, durable and non-durable consumer goods.

Among the southeastern Europe region countries, other than Bulgaria, on a yearly basis, in the month of January this year, Croatia records growth in industrial production of 3.5%, of Romania by 1.5% growth, Slovenia by 9.9%, on the other hand, Greece’s industrial production witnessed a decline of 0.2%.
