Dominica: The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosvelt Skerrit was present at the commissioning of a new playground at the Penville Community. The commissioning of the playground was hosted on Saturday.
The commissioning of the playground coincided with the celebration of the Prime Minister’s birthday. The new playground in the community will give the people  of the community a better playing space.
The playground will have a variety of colourful swings and engaging play things as  such the playground is expected to be a popular spot for the community. The playground, according to the government officials is a symbol of hope for the children of the Penville Community.
The government has shared some images from the commissioning of the playground for the children. After the park was officially opened for the community, the children had the opportunity to enjoy and have fun.
The officials have shared that in the next few weeks, the playground will also have a new gazabo for the parents and guardians. With the new gazabo, the parents and elders will also have a place to enjoy and relax in.
The playsets for the children’s ground was donated by the People’s Republic of China. The nation has remained an invaluable partner of Dominica in several of their developmental avenues. The government is grateful for the donation.
The support from China suggests that the children of the island are also a priority for the partners of Domonica. The government of Dominica has highlighted that they will continue to construct more playgrounds in different locations across the country.
The government has specified that they understand that the playgrounds will play a crucial role in the growth of the children. It will allow the children to develop interpersonal, social and community bonds.
The commissioning ceremony, which was attended by PM Roosevelt Skerrit also had several notable members of the country’s government in attendance. The representatives from the People’s Republic of China were also present at the event.
