Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: PM Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, sent his condolences over the demise of Earl Clarke, who is a poet, historian, activist, stalwart, and patriot. On his official Facebook account, PM Drew expressed that the news of the passing of Earl Clarke deeply saddens him.
PM Drew noted that he often calls Professor because of the endless words of wisdom Clarke shared with the Prime Minister of the Twin Island Federation.
Minister Drew highlighted that Clarke had contributed tremendously to nation-building on numerous levels, as an ardent party supporter and member and through several other organizations, such as the St Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union and Cuba-St Kitts Nevis Friendship Association.
Admiring his efforts, PM Drew Drew remarked that the country had significantly benefited from his wealth of knowledge and passion. He said, “His energetic and spirited contributions will be sorely missed”.
Minister Drew asserted that Mr. Clarke’s unexpected demise had left an empty space that will be hard to fill. He expressed his condolences to the family of the member of St Kitts and Nevis and underlined that Earl Clarke devoted his life to the people of St Kitts and Nevis. In addition to being a respected member of their political family, he dedicated his life to serving the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
PM Drew further remarked that Mr. Clarke served the people and performed his duties as a public servant with integrity and humility, intending to improve the lives of the citizens. He immensely contributed to the growth and success of the country, especially in the field of historic preservation.
The Prime Minister sorrowly expressed that the loss of Earl Clarke is felt across the entire country. He extended his heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. “May they find comfort in the recollections of his extraordinary life and the understanding that his legacy will live on”, said PM Drew.
