Haskovo, Bulgaria: Haskovo will welcome performers of old-town songs from all over the country on June 11, 2023. Then the XXII National Contest Festival of the Old Town Song and Schlager “With Ari’s Songs” will be held. The event is part of the cultural calendar of the Municipality of Haskovo and is in memory of the unbeatable Asparuh Leshnikov – Ari.
“In order to preserve the creativity of the Haskovo region for generations, one of the recommendations to participants in the contest is to include in their repertoire songs performed by Asparuh Leshnikov,” recalled Deputy Mayor of Haskovo Municipality Maria Valcheva today.
Music connoisseurs can enjoy the performances of the festival participants from 11 o’clock on the stage of ONCH “Zarya-1858”. The gala concert of the festival laureates will begin at 18.00 o’clock, and the admission is free.
The XXII edition of the Old Town Song Festival, “With the Songs of Ari,” will feature 15 vocal groups, 15 individual artists, a trio and a quartet. The professional jury that will evaluate the musical-artistic qualities of the songs, their performance and artistic performance is in the composition:
Chairman: Prof. Tony Shekerdzhieva – Novak – Rector of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts “Prof. Assen Diamandiev”, Plovdiv.
Members: Assoc. Kiril Chaplikov – teacher in the Department of Music Pedagogy and Conducting at AMTII and PhD. Plamen Parvanov – teacher in the Department of Classical, Pop and Jazz Performing Arts at AMTII.
At the XXII National Festival of Old Town Song and Schlager “With the Songs of Ari”, Haskovo Municipality will present awards in the categories:
“Vocal Groups”, “Chamber Compositions”, “Individual Performers-Men and Women”, “For Best Performance of a Song from the Asparuh Leshnikov Repertoire”, “For Copyright # Song in the Style of the Old Town Song”, “For the best 60s schlager performance, “For Best Accompany”.
The National Old Town Song Contest winners and Schlager’s “With Ari’s Songs” will receive a grand prize. It will be declared on June 11 / Sunday / at 6.00 pm in the ONC “Zarya-1858 ” hall at the winners’ gala concert.
