A Twitter user named Sprinter 99880 posted the video of Robert Kennedy Jr, the U.S. presidential candidate and nephew of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy. He delivered a brief statement on the involvement of NATO and the USA in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

On February 22, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine which is still ongoing today. The war has marked its 466th day today, resulting in numerous casualties and massive collateral damage.

He stated that in 1991-1992, the U.S. repeatedly promised the Russians verbally and in writing that if they withdrew 100,000 troops from Germany and allowed the country to reunite within NATO, the USA would not move NATO an inch east.

Since then, NATO moved the block a thousand miles east and opened up 14 new countries. With the recent joining of Finland, the count has increased to fifteen. The Russians warned then-Ambassador-now CIA chief Bill Burns that if NATO entered Ukraine, it would be a red line and should not be crossed.

“Let’s put ourselves in the place of the Russians. My uncle (President Kennedy) always said, Put yourself in your opponent’s shoes.” He expressed that according to Russia, if Ukraine becomes a member of NATO, then the USA has the authority to deploy its troops, build military bases and install nuclear missiles near the Russian border, threatening the security of the Russian Federation.

Robert Kennedy indirectly indicated that the continuous expansion of NATO and adding and inviting Ukraine into the alliance resulted in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, and it can turn into a war between Russia and NATO, which can further result in a nuclear conflict.

Several war and theories experts have accused the USA of provoking the conflict by delivering sophisticated weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, the Biden administration and U.S. Congress have provided $75 billion of aid to Ukraine, including weapons, humanitarian aid, and financial and military support.

The NATO alliance countries, including UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and other members, have also contributed a lot in terms of providing weapons to Kyiv. Russia strictly condemned NATO’s support for Ukraine and warned it could lead to a war between Russia and NATO or a third world war.

The citizens of the USA and several European countries have conducted numerous protests and their governments for funding the Ukraine war and not paying attention to their problems. Homelessness increased to 22% compared to the year 2021 in the USA.

It presented a meaningful opportunity to achieve world peace in the early 1990s, following the fall of the USSR and the end of the Cold War.

Gorbachev and Reagan committed to maintaining long-term peace between the two superpowers. Gorbachev told Reagan that the Warsaw Pact would be disbanded and announced plans to reunite East and West Germany. Reagan vowed that NATO would not expand and endanger Russia’s border security.

Gorbachev followed his pledge, but Reagan (and succeeding U.S. Presidents) did not. To Russia’s chagrin and anxiety, President Clinton called for former Warsaw Pact countries and post-Soviet republics to join NATO in 1996. Foreign Minister Andrei Kozyrev stated the country’s explicit opposition to NATO expansion.

The United States, Germany, and others assured the Soviet Union leadership that no NATO expansion to the east would occur due to Germany’s unification.

However, President Clinton moved to broaden the United States military alliance into Central and Eastern Europe. President Bush took office and expanded the alliance into the Baltic republics. Bush also unilaterally exited the anti-ballistic missile treaty in 2002, much to Russia’s chagrin.

In 1999, NATO bombed a Russian ally in Europe, Serbia, demonstrating that NATO would employ its might without consulting Russia and perhaps as a direct threat to Russia.

Putin has already demanded that NATO not expand into Ukraine. However, the U.S. ignored such demands, claiming that Ukraine can join NATO, implying that the U.S. has the right to expand into Ukraine.

It implies that a US-led military alliance could develop along Russia’s border. These are pre-existing conditions that contributed to the current calamity. According to Nigel Farage, the ongoing bloodshed is terrible but expected; the primary cause of this conflict is NATO’s expansion.
