The Secretary-General asserted, “Russia’s war in Ukraine could last for years. We must be prepared for the fact that this may take years. We must not reduce our support for Ukraine, even if the costs are high, not only for military support but also for rising energy and food prices”.

He further added that he believes that supplying much-needed assistance with modern weapons to the war-torn country of Ukraine will increase the chance of freeing the Donbas region from Russian control.

According to the official data, the Ukraine forces managed to kill more than 33,800 Russian troops, destroying 216 planes of the Russian forces, along with 1,477 tanks, 238 MLRS, 98 anti-aircraft, 601 UAV, and 181 helicopters, 2,527 vehicles and fuel tanks and 130 cruise missiles.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the war-torn country is expecting “greater hostile activity” from the Russian Federation.

As per the recent updates, Russian forces accomplished the town of Metelkine, to the east of the strategic city of Severodonetsk. Serhiy Hayday, the head of the Luhansk Regional Military administration, stated, “Unfortunately, we don’t currently control Metelkine near the regional centre. They are working hard on the Severodonetsk industrial zone and the outskirts of the city. The same is true in the Toshkivka and Ustynivka districts”.

Since the Russian invasion, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to flee the country and take shelter in the neighbouring states. Many countries, as well as international organisations such as – WHO, UN, and World Bank, are providing every possible aid to Ukraine refugees.
