Sofia, Bulgaria: State Agency for Refugees head Mariana Tosheva, during her interaction with a media house, informed that at the present time, there are a total of 81,486 Ukraine refugees in the Balkan state of Bulgaria. The information was shared by Tosheva today (June 20).

Of this total number, there are a total of 45,000 children. She then highlighted the efforts of the Bulgarian government, noting that the administration is focused on motivating and connecting Ukrainians with employers.

According to the data, more than 5800 Ukraine refugees penned down employment contracts in the European country, and they have been employed in different sectors at the positions such as – IT specialists in the service and garment industries.

The head of the State Agency for Refugees further stated, “We are working on a mechanism for daycare for children due to the lack of places in kindergartens”.

Moreover, as per the data present on the official website of the Bulgarian administration, currently, there are a total of 26,275 Ukrainian refugees who are in Bulgarian accommodations.

More than 350,823 Ukraine nationals entered the borders of the war-torn country as of June 19, which gradually increased by 26,190, higher than the data of June 10.

Although, there are a total of 116,581 Ukraine refugees who have been granted temporary protection status in the European country. There has been witnessed an increase of 1704 since June 10. Thousands of Ukraine refugees have also left the European nation.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has entered its’ 116th day.

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell speaking on Monday about the Russia-Ukraine war, stated, “We call on Russia to deblockade the ports. One cannot imagine that millions of tons of wheat remain blocked in Ukraine while in the rest of the world people are suffering hunger”.
