“It has been now fifteen weeks that Russia has invaded Ukraine – an innocent neighbour. And we have learnt so much about the tenacity of the Ukrainian soul. Ukraine needs economic and financial support now, but what is also as important as the now is that we begin to think, and President Zelenskyy did it on screen that we start to think now about reconstructing this beautiful country, Ukraine”.

During the previous week only, the EU adopted the sixth package of tough sanctions against Russia, the international organisation noted, adding that Europe will stand in support of Ukraine as long as it takes, with all the financial, technical & humanitarian aid possible.

“We will help them rebuild, reform and modernise“, the EU President then highlights as she commends the courage of Ukrainians during the ongoing war.

The war between Russia & Ukraine has entered its 103rd day.

Meanwhile, UNHCR in Ukraine stated, “War in Ukraine has broken millions of lives across the country. Houses were destroyed, schools were destroyed, families were separated, and relatives were killed. More than 7.1 million people have been forced to flee their homes. The horrors and destruction are still going on”.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday met with the troops on the frontlines in Donbas following the heavy combat. Meeting them, the Ukrainian President cited, “I want to thank you for your great work, for your service, for safeguarding all of us, our state. I am grateful to everyone. Take care of yourselves”.
