Sofia, Bulgaria: The Ministry of Education has decided to invest BGN 30,000 in the preparation of teachers for the National Security Service.

With BGN 30,000, the Ministry of Education and Science assisted the National Sports Academy in building a Center for Innovative Educational Technologies.

It was created under the national program of the MES, “Enhancing the Competencies of Teachers of Public Higher Schools Preparing Future Teachers”.

“The National Sports Academy is an example of how future teachers prepare themselves in practice, connect learning with research, and become good teachers who ignite children for physical activity and sports – that’s how new champions emerge,” said the Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov at the opening of the Center.

The Minister congratulated the team for not only preparing teachers but also working hard with children, thus enabling students to stay in touch with students improving their preparation. “You are a model for the new type of training for future teachers,” he turned to them.

Guests of the Academy were also the Ministers of Youth and Sports and Tourism, Dimitar Iliev and Zaritsa Dinkova, the Chairman of the Parliament’s Education and Science Commission, Krasimir Valchev and others.

The guests had the opportunity to view the newly built facilities – a weightlifting hall and a stadium.

Additionally, ten Bulgarian teachers were awarded for their work and contribution to education on the Day of People’s Teachers, when the Konstantin Velichkov Awards were presented to the Ministry of Education and Science.

17 323 teachers will undergo training to work with the Digital Backpack platform and use innovative teaching methods.

The training is for two qualification credits – a total of 32 hours. Each of the teachers will gain the competence to use and apply the various functionalities and digital educational resources on the platform. They can develop e-tutorials on their subjects to publish publicly in the Digital Backpack.
