Sofia, Bulgaria: The Bulgarian Ministry of Ministry of Environment and Water informed through its social media account that over 4340 tonnes of waste were collected during the 11th edition of the initiative “Let’s Clean Bulgaria Together”.

This is indicated by the Regional Environmental and Water Inspection (RIOSV) data, which collected and processed information on the amounts of waste during the campaign.

Employees of the Moscow State Department, IAOS and the regional structures of the ministry – the 15 regional environmental and water inspections, the three national parks and the four pool directories – participated in the cleanup.

The most considerable amount of waste was collected on the territory of RIOSV – Blagoevgrad – 890 tons, followed by RIOSV – Sofia – 855 tons, and the least amount of garbage was gathered on the territory of the RIOSV – Smolyan – 46 tons.

Julian Popov, Minister of Environment and Water of Bulgaria, also participates in the cleaning of Sozopol port. Participants in the marine action were the Ministry of Environment and Waters, Sozopol Municipality, and Underwater Archaeology Center – City.

The Sozopol Institute of Oceanology – BAN, and three diving centres – SubDiving, Scuba4Stars and the South Bay University Underwater Club at St. University Clement of Ohrid also assisted the Environment Ministry in this initiative, “Let’s Clean Bulgaria Together”.

The initiative in Sofia gathered in one place – in the Hunting Park, Moscow teams and its structures – PUDOOOS, IAOS, NDEB, NIMH and RIOSV-Sofia, together with Deputy Minister Reneta Koleva and Secretary Chief of the Ministry Klementina Deneva.

MOSV and its regional structures are a leading partner of the national campaign “Let’s Clean Bulgaria Together” for the 11th year. Instead of cleaning, numerous trees and plants are planted in various regions of Sofia under this initiative.

The Volunteers of “Let’s Clean Bulgaria” joined the mayor of Sofia, Miss Yordanka Fandakova, to plant 2100 trees in the city by the end of Autumn.
