Sofia, Bulgaria: Minister of Youth and Sports Dimitar Iliev took part in a hike to Cherni Vrah from Aleko cabin on the occasion of the 128th anniversary of the organized tourism movement in Bulgaria.

At the highest peak of Vitosha, Iliev officially presented the certificate for national sports and tourism activity of the Bulgarian Tourist Union.

“I wish you very fruitful work in creating good conditions for Bulgarian tourists,” said Minister Iliev when presenting the certificate.

On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Minister Iliev presented flowers to the bas-relief of the founder of the organized tourist movement in Bulgaria and to the Bulgarian Tourism Union Aleko Konstantinov.

Minister Dimitar Iliev was also awarded the champion in the mountain running race, which started at 9:00 by the National Palace of Culture.

The winner of the men’s race was Shaban Mustafa, who reached from the centre of Sofia to Cherni Vrah in 1 hour 44 minutes and 55 seconds. Maria Nikolova was the first to finish in women.

Many families with their children participated in the initiative. Minister Iliev congratulated parents for bringing their children to the highest peak of Vitosha, thus engaging them in healthy and valuable activities.
