Copenhagen, Denmark: The Bulgarian badminton federation informed through its official Facebook account that three-time European champions Stephanie Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva, usually known as Stoeva Sisters, will start directly from the second round of the Badminton World Championship, which will be held from August 21 to 27 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Stoeva sisters are placed at number thirteen in the scheme and will rest at the start, then play with the winners of the match between Linda Efler/Isabel Lohau of Germany and Nga Tin Eun and Pyu Lam Eun of Hong Kong.
In the third round, Stephanie and Gabriella may face last year’s third-placed world vice-champions, So-yeon Kim and Hi-yeon Kon of the Republic of Korea.
Ivan Rusev / Ivan Rusev and Iliyan Stoynov will start in pairs of men with a match against Denmark’s Danes Yep Bay and Lasse Molhead.
In mixed doubles, Iliyan Stoinov and Hristomira Popovska / Hristomira Popovska go out in their first match against the representatives of Guatemala, Jonathan Solis and Diana Soto.
Bulgaria will participate with five competitors with three of the Olympic disciplines at the Planet Championship in Copenhagen.
The team will be led by the senior coach of the national team Petya Nedelcheva-Hranova and Stylian Makarski, physiotherapist-Janislav Petkov. Nearly 400 competitors from 56 countries will start in the race.
