In China, the population is currently on the decline, as in 2022, the country’s population reached an extreme height, after which it started to decline. The nation’s young population chooses not to get pregnant or give birth to multiple children.
People think they can’t afford to have more than one child, which is why this is the case. Experts predict that the government will take corrective action to address this issue in order to stop the population fall.
The Family Planning Association of China declared their plan to begin pilot programmes in 20 cities on the occasion of the International Day of Families. The organization aims to create a modern marriage and parenthood culture.
The group will further encourage couples to share equally in child-rearing duties. The exorbitant bride prices that are common in the nation will be further addressed through education. The group emphasized the need to combat and outlaw these archaic practices. At a Guangzhou event, the association representative said these things.
Some of the regions included in the pilot programmes are Guangzhou and Handan in the Hebei Province of North China. These initiatives will use creative and proactive approaches to aid in creating environments that are conducive to childbearing.
The initiatives will support Chinese modernization differently. They will rely on the population’s remarkable growth to keep them doing the same. China’s government has previously launched several family planning programmes. However, they need more interest in continuing these activities.
China has been aware of the possibility of a significant population drop since 2015. The country has a small workforce, yet most of the population is ageing quickly.
These elements add to the burden on the nation’s healthcare and other resources. As a result, the Chinese government wants to make amends to prevent similar problems in the future.
