India and China held military talks on the Line of Actual Control on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the Daulat Beg Oldie area, entering the fourth year of their continuing impasse. The talks were at the Major General level.

Major General level representatives from the Chinese and Indian armies met today in Ladakh’s Daulat Beg Oldie region of the LAC. It was a typical discussion between the two sides about ending the protracted standoff, and defence sources told ANI.

Long-standing tensions exist between the two parties in the DBO sector, and despite a three-year standoff and numerous rounds of negotiations, these problems have not been resolved.
