Olena Zelenska, the first lady of Ukraine, noted that construction of the first country-kitchen factory, which feeds educational institutions of three surrounding communities: Buchi, Nemishaevogo and Borodyanka, begins in Bucha.
She stated that Bucha had become a scene of Russian crimes for the country and worldwide. Still, Ukrainian residents want to continue living in a standard, happy city, more comfortable with this dramatic memory.
Zelenska highlighted that this Kitchen would bring back the nutrition reform that was interrupted by the Russian invasion. She said, “The idea of feeding children qualitatively and nutritionally during wartime has become heavier in implementation but even more valuable”.
Ukraine’s first lady remarked that as Ukrainian children and pedagogy demonstrated true heroism, they did not interrupt learning. The second school year in military conditions is ending. So she desires to support children and teachers, including nutrition, which also depends on the quality of education.
Zelenska described that the experience of Buchan cuisine is already expanding to the whole country. Today, the project of the second such factory, which will be built in Lozova in the Kharkiv region, was presented.
A relevant memorandum was signed on this. On the part of the Ukrainian side, it was signed by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov and Loziv City Mayor Sergey Zelensky.
She remarked that the factory-kitchen project is not just about food but joint actions about support with no borders and territorial limitations.
About help and interaction in a broad sense because kitchens are also workplaces, and the territories need economic harvest. It’s a project about life and the energy required for it. Production is not only calories but also hope and encouragement for children and adults.
Zelenska thanked local authorities for the reliability and comprehensive support of the project and Orest Stepanyak’s team National Catering Association for its implementation. She especially admired Howard Buffett’s team – for the love of Ukraine and faith in it and its children.
