Dimitrov noted that he discussed with representatives of local businesses and authorities current issues related to the upcoming season. The emphasis was on security and providing additional medical care for tourists.

“It turned out that there are only two medical teams in Bansko. We are going to turn them up,” said Dimitrov.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Vesela Lecheva, the Rector of the NSA Prof. Nikolay Izov, with the special participation of skiing legends Maria Höfl-Rish – three-time Olympic and two-time World Ski Champion and Mark Girardelli – five-time World Cup winner and honorary citizen of the Bulgarian resort town.

With their presence and support, they work for the cause of Bulgarian tourism and winter sports and declare the world-class beloved and preferred resort – Bansko. From the stage, the participants were reminded that only a month away is the beginning of the Snowboard World Cup, which will put Bulgaria and Bansko in the spotlight at the beginning of 2023.

Dimitrov thanked the hosts, the mayor, and the citizens of Bansko for their tireless work on raising the prestige of the iconic Bulgarian tourism and winter sports resort town. He also wished them a successful season and more snow.
