According to the Russian investigation, the truck that blew up the Crimean bridge was seen in Burgas, from where it got boarded a ferry. The investigators also claim that the truck reached Batumi in Georgia, which was then seen in Armenia. From there, he goes again to Georgia, followed by North Ossetia, from where he crossed into Russia. From there, he got on the Crimean bridge and was supposed to get to Simferopol.
The GERB leader and former prime minister, Boyko Borissov, criticised this statement. He said, “There was talk of a Bulgarian trail during the Pope’s assassination, and it was later confirmed that it was untrue. This vehicle travelled a great distance and five different nations. Since the bomb cannot cross borders and will detonate someplace, it is obvious that it was not loaded here. If I were working in Russian services, I would be more interested in finding where the truck was loaded and what caused the explosion rather than blaming anyone without serious evidence”.
Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, directly blamed Ukraine for the fierce accident that occurred on October 8. Alexander Bastrykin, the chairman of the Russian federation council, stated, “Russian people and other nations assisted both the attack and its execution. It was an act of terrorism aimed at destroying critical civilian infrastructure, in which Ukraine played the leading role”.
To cross the bridge, a security check was conducted over every vehicle.
The truck must pass a comprehensive examination. It was still unclear how the truck reached the bridge. The extent of the destruction, in the opinion of many experts, cannot have been brought about by an explosion in a truck. They claim there is an assault coming from the bridge’s lower level.
