Nikola Minchev, a Former Member of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Announced that ‘We continue the change’ will assist the proposal of Bulgaria to help Ukraine by providing them with military aid. Nikola Minchev also mentioned that President Rumen Radev should have endorsed the statement in support of Ukraine joining NATO, which was published by nine nations from Eastern and Central Europe.

Minched added, “We will support them according to their needs. However, there is a coincidence between Ukraine’s equipment and that produced in the Bulgarian military-industrial plants. This is even a symbolic act for us to help a country that defends its territorial integrity and sovereignty. Ukraine is a country that is in need right now. Thank God we are not in need right now and are part of a grand alliance providing us with protection. No excuse appears for refusing to admit nations to NATO because of past disputes. I think the West will help, and Ukraine will join NATO in the future”.

Minchev emphasizes that it is beneficial for the administration to gather offers for military aircraft but not to buy them as the parliament should decide which offer is more profitable and suitable. He added, “We support the Bulgarian Army’s modernization initiatives. This holds for our aviation as well. However, precise calculations need to be performed to see whether purchasing Gripen aircraft would be financially feasible given that we have already acquired the F16”.

According to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, the 48th National Assembly runs the possibility of passing a pre-election budget in which everyone pours expenses. He urged the parties to responsibly approach the budget plan for the upcoming year.
