Nikola Stoyanov, minister of economy and industry, mentioned that Bulgarian exports surpass BGN 68 billion in 2021. He also noted that this figure indicates the hard work done by our commercials abroad. Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organizes an Annual Award Ceremony for economic advisors and Offices for Trade and Economic Affairs (OTEA), in which Stoyanav also appeared.
For the 11th time in a row, awards for the most successful trade attaches, Offices for Trade and Economic Affairs (OTEA), were conducted. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry ranking was developed with the help of the Ministry of Economy. It was generally based on the increase of Bulgarian exports to the respective country and attracted foreign investments in Bulgaria.
Ivailo Marinov, the economic adviser for Trade and Economic Affairs in Romania, received the Grand Prize for the most successful trade attache in 2021, presented by Nikola Stoyanov. The economy minister explained, “Romanian investments in our homeland achieved a rise of 370% in 2021. This increase opposed the backdrop during the pandemic year 2020; it is a sign of promoting investment opportunities in Bulgaria”.
The enormous export growth was recorded, nearly 40%, with its total value exceeding BGN 6.8 billion. Stoyanov also drew attention to all challenges related to the migrant crisis, on which assistance was provided by the ministry’s representative in our northern neighbour.
Emilian Abadjiev, the Economic advisor of Austria, secured his second position at (OTEA). Poland’s economic minister, Yordan draganchev, came third.
Stoyanov said, “It is a wonderful achievement that our exports to Austria increased by more than 50% in 2021, which also recovered the damage we suffered in the Covid-19 pandemic, marching towards leading European producers.” Stoyanov hopes that the results will be upgraded next year. He also drew attention to the results in Poland, where a significant increase in trade was recorded. Bulgaria has exported more than BGN 1.7 billion to Poland, a rise of almost 30%.
Stoyanov emphasized, ” I want to appreciate every one of you for their hard work and determination. I am delighted to be a part of this occasion to congratulate everyone for the success you achieved as a team”.
