Sofia, Bulgaria: The COVID-19 update has been shared by the Bulgarian authorities stating that additional 381 cases of the deadliest novel coronavirus during the last 24 hours. The data has been shared in the unified information portal of June 21, 2022.
These fresh cases were detected from the additional 4,758 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities at the testing sites in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of these new cases computes to nearly 8%.
Among the new cases reported in Bulgaria, around 56.17% of patients belonged to the category of the unvaccinated population. This brings the overall count of the active COVID-19 infections in the Balkan state to 61,778, and of the confirmed COVID cases, since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,168,508.
Three COVID patients succumbed to the viral illness in the last 24 hours, bringing the death rate in Bulgaria to 37,227, the data further adds.
During the time frame of the past 24 hours, at least 530 Bulgarians got recovered from the deadliest virus and were discharged from the hospital facilities. The total recovery rate of COVID patients in Bulgaria accounts for around 1,069,503.
Currently, there are a total of 270 patients with the COVID mutant in hospital establishments in Bulgaria, including the newly admitted 60 patients (65% of which were unvaccinated against the virus). Meanwhile, a total of thirty-one (31) patients are in intensive care units – ICU.
Additional 361 doses of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of the administered doses in Bulgaria to 4,405,168 since the COVID-19 vaccination drive commenced in the European country. Of this total number, there are a total of 762,316 Bulgarians who received the booster jabs of the vaccine.
Till June 19, 2,060,932 Bulgarians have been fully vaccinated against the virus by taking the required number of COVID-19 vaccines and representing around 29.8% of the total targeted eligible population of the country.
