Bulgaria records new 208 COVID cases

Sofia, Bulgaria: The European country recorded a total of additional 208 cases of the contagious novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The data has been shared in the unified information portal of June 18, 2022. There has been a significant improvement in the COVID-19 situation in Bulgaria over the past weeks. 

These fresh coronavirus cases have been detected from the additional 3143 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities of the European country in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of the new COVID cases in Bulgaria accounts for nearly 6.6%.

With this, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the European country has hiked to 1,167,914, whereas the overall number of the active infections in Bulgaria has increased to 61,770, the data further adds. 

Along with this, four COVID patients lost their lives to the deadliest mutant in the last 24 hours. While, there are a total of 1120 COVID patients have recovered from the virus in the past day and got discharged from the hospital facilities.  

For the present time, according to the data of the portal, there are a total of 246 patients with the contagious COVID-19 virus who are in the hospital facilities of Bulgaria, including the recently admitted COVID-19 patients. There are a total of twenty-six (26) patients in intensive care units -ICU, as of June 18. 

Additional 366 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Bulgaria during the last 24 hours.

The COVID-19 vaccination rate of Bulgaria: 

In the Balkan state, till June 17, 2020, there are a total of 2,060,929 individuals who have taken their required recommended number of the COVID-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and are now in the category of fully vaccinated ones. This number of Bulgarian citizens represents nearly 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population of the Balkan state, as per the official data.
