Sofia, Bulgaria: The European country recorded a total of additional 253 cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, as per the data published in the unified information portal. These fresh COVID infections have been detected from additional 6501 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities during the previous day.
The positivity rate of the new cases computes to around 4%, the data adds.
Along with these cases, there are a total of eleven patients with the COVID-19 virus who lost their lives to the deadliest mutant. Meanwhile, as per the statistics of the unified portal, a total of 2121 COVID patients got recovered from the contagious viral illness and were discharged from the hospital facilities during the last day.
For the present time, there are a total of 385 patients in the Bulgarian hospital facilities, of which a total of thirty-seven patients are in intensive care units. Additional 558 doses of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the European country during the last day.
COVID vaccination rate of the Balkan state:
In Bulgaria, as of May 30, 2022, there are a total of 2,059,360 individuals who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID vaccines and are now put in the category of the fully immunized population.
This number of individuals represents around 29.7% of the total Bulgarian targeted eligible population, the official data reveals.
On the other hand, there are a total of 757,918 Bulgarian citizens who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose or booster shots of the COVID vaccines as of May 30.
The active toll of the Balkan state has also witnessed a significant decrease, which is a sign that the pandemic situation in the European country is improving day by day.
Apart from this, the COVID vaccination rate in Bulgaria is the “lowest” as compared to the other European member states.
