Sofia, Bulgaria: A total of ninety-six (96) Bulgarian citizens have been tested positive for the contagious COVID-19 mutant in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of May 23, 2022.
These new COVID-19 cases have been detected of the total additional 3,021 tests conducted in the European country by the healthcare staff during the last day. The positivity rate of these COVID-19 cases stands at 3.2%.
Nearly 59.38% of the newly COVID cases were not vaccinated against the viral illness.
Along with this, a total of three (3) patients with the contagious mutant died in the previous 24 hours. Meanwhile, a total of fifty-seven (57) COVID patients got recovered from the deadliest virus and were discharged from the hospital facilities in Bulgaria.
For the present time, there are a total of 511 COVID patients who are in the hospital facilities, including the recently admitted thirteen patients. There are a total of forty-three (43) COVID-19 patients in intensive care units – ICU.
Among recently admitted patients, 38.46% of them are unvaccinated. The data of the portal further informs that an additional twelve (12) doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered in Bulgaria on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
Vaccination rate of the European country –
In Bulgaria, as of May 22, 2022, there are a total of 2,058,551 individuals who have received their required number of the WHO-approved COVID vaccines and are now fully immunized against the deadly virus, representing around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.
On the other hand, there are a total of 755,589 Bulgarian nationals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose (booster shots) of the COVID-19 vaccines as of May 22, 2022, the official data further reveals.
The above number of citizens is representing around 10.9% of the total targeted eligible population of Bulgaria. Although, the Balkan state contains the least vaccination rate as compared to the other European states.
