Sofia, Bulgaria: The European country of Bulgaria has recorded an additional ninety-two (92) cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of May 22, 2022. These fresh cases have been confirmed from the additional 2630 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities.

The positivity rate of the new COVID infections stands at 3.5%.

With the arrival of these cases, the total count of active Covid-19 infections has increased to 83,645.

Meanwhile, the count of the confirmed novel coronavirus infections since the beginning of the pandemic has increased to 1,163,317, the data further adds.

Along with this, a total of three patients with contagious viral illness died during the last 24 hours.

For the present time, there are a total of 514 COVID patients in the hospital facilities, including the recently admitted patients. There are a total of forty-seven (47) patients in intensive care units.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 274 patients recovered from the deadly mutant and have been discharged from the hospital facilities.

Till May 21, 2022, there are a total of 2,058,546 individuals have received their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the mutant. This number of Bulgarian citizens represents around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.

On the other hand, there are a total of 755 582 Bulgarian nationals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose or booster shots of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines.
