The European country of Bulgaria recorded a total of additional 332 cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal, as of May 13, 2022. With the arrival of these new COVID-19 cases, the total count of active cases has hiked to 117,334 to date.
These fresh COVID-19 cases were detected from the additional 6010 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities of the European country in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of the new cases stands at 5.5%, as per the data published in the portal.
During the previous day, a total of sixteen (16) patients with the contagious viral illness lost their lives to the mutant. Among the deceased, nearly 87.5% belonged to the category of unvaccinated individuals. This brings the total death rate of the Balkan state to 37,035 since the onset of the pandemic.
In addition, there are a total of 7024 COVID patients got recovered from the deadliest virus in the last day.
For the present time, there are a total of 608 patients who are in the hospital facilities of Bulgaria, of which a total of 62 are in intensive care units.
Additional 944 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered in Bulgaria during the previous day.
The official data states that till now, there are a total of 2,057,575 individuals who have taken their required number of COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the mutant. This number of individuals represents 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population of the Balkan state.
On the other hand, there are a total of 752,088 Bulgarian nationals who are fully immunized and have also taken their third dose or booster shots of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines, representing nearly 10.8% of the total targeted eligible population of the European country.
