The Balkan state of Bulgaria reported additional 422 cases of the contagious COVID-19 vaccines during the previous day, as per the data shared in the unified information portal today, May 11, 2022. These fresh COVID infections have been detected from the additional 7563 tests conducted all across Bulgaria by the healthcare facilities during the past day.

The positivity rate of these new COVID-19 viruses computes 5.6%. Nearly 66.66% of the new cases belonged to the category of the unvaccinated population. The toll of the active COVID-19 cases has now increased to 128,321, whereas the total count of the confirmed infections of the viral illness has hiked to 1,160,347, since the beginning of the outbreak, to date.

Thirteen (13) COVID patients succumbed to the deadliest mutant on May 10, 2022, as per the portal’s data, bringing the overall death rate of the European country to 37,007. Meanwhile, 3193 patients recovered during the last 24 hours and have been discharged from the hospital facilities. This takes the total count of the COVID-19 related recoveries to 995 019 till now.

For the present time, there are a total of 646 COVID-19 patients who are in the hospital facilities, including the newly admitted 77 patients. There are 72 patients in intensive care units, the data further adds.

As of May 10, 2022, there are a total of 2,057,158 Bulgarian citizens who are fully vaccinated by taking their recommended number of COVID-19 vaccines by the World Health Organisation. This number represents nearly 29.75 of the total targeted eligible population of the European country.

On the other hand, there are a total of 750,689 individuals in Bulgaria who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose, which is booster shots of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines., representing around 10.85 of the total targeted eligible population, according to the official data.

Currently, there are now 20 Bulgarian districts that are in the green zone.
