Those 20 districts are: Blagoevgrad, Bourgas, Varna, Veliko Turnovo, Vratsa, Dobrich, Kurdzhali, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Rousse, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Turgovishte, Haskovo, Shoumen and Yambol.

As per the recent data shared by the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD), there are now twenty (20) Bulgarian districts that are in the “GREEN ZONE” of COVID-19. The districts are placed in this zone if the COVID morbidity rate is less than 100 out of 100 000 population on a 14-day basis.

Those 20 districts are: Blagoevgrad, Bourgas, Varna, Veliko Turnovo, Vratsa, Dobrich, Kurdzhali, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Rousse, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Turgovishte, Haskovo, Shoumen and Yambol.

The remaining eight (8) districts fall under the “YELLOW ZONE”. The districts with a morbidity rate between 100 and 249.9 per 100 000 population on a two-week basis. Gabrovo, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pernik, Sofia, Vidin, and Sofia city are the districts which comes under the yellow zone.

According to NCIPD, the COVID-19 morbidity rate of the European country stands at 92.81 per 100 000 population on a 14-day basis as of May 10, 2022. The morbidity rate has witnessed a decline from the previous week, which was 99.14 on May 3.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 morbidity rate of the Balkan state stands at 172.04 per 100 000 population, which has declined from 191.68.

The COVID-19 situation in the European country is steadily improving, although the vaccination rate of Bulgaria remains low as compared to the other European states.

For the present time, there are a total of 2,057,158 individuals who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the mutant. This number of Bulgarian nationals represents around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.

Meanwhile, a total of 750,689 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose, which is booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccines, computing and representing nearly 10.8% of the total targeted eligible population of Bulgaria.
